Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity gets Yum! Brand treatment in Japan

psp2i

Those shots of a badass Colonel Sanders you've seen for Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity around the net may have given you hope for some finger-licking good fight sequences, but unfortunately, the potty-mouthed KFC man will only appear in Japan.

Over in Japan, it's the 40th Anniversary of the first KFC opening in Japan, so Yum! Brands teamed up with SEGA to celebrate in a big way. There will even be a Pizza Shield in the game, which looks like a pizza box and features the Pizza Hut logo on it. The pizza shield will be available in the US version, but the logo will be erased.

The Louisville, Kentucky based company Yum! Brands owns both the Hut and KFC, but it doesn't seem as if its other brands, Taco Bell, or Long John Silvers will be making an appearance. That's a bummer, really, because one of those paper pirate hats at LJS would be kinda fun to wear in the game. Much like real life.

Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity hits on February 24 in Japan on UMD and as a downloadable title. No word yet on when it will leave Japan.

By the way - yes, Colonel Sanders was a real person. Promise.
