Rumor: Kinect beta kits, dashboard update out in the wild

Remember those Kinect beta invites from a couple weeks back? Well, if you got one, you may have a bouncing baby beta Kinect waiting for you on your doorstep.

According to sources that spoke with Joystiq, participants are receiving both Kinect hardware and a corresponding dashboard update, which includes a new mini-guide and Avatars that look a bit less like they've been run through a trash compactor. Apparently, testers can look forward to turning their discerning eyes (and arms and legs) on Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, and Kinect Joy Ride.

Honestly, though, for us, all that adventuring, sports-playing, and joyriding is empty and meaningless if we can't do it with Skittles. Actually, scratch that. Life is empty without that adorable fuzzball.
