Bungie’s Brain Jarrard has told VG247 Halo: Reach will set the benchmark for all future games in the series.

Speaking to Pat during Microsoft’s Play Day, Jarrard said the game is a culmination of all that is great about the series.

“We feel every new franchise is unique, therefore when we are creating a game improve upon that,” he said. “The goal is to look at the whole franchise and carry forward and improve upon all the releases so far,  Reach is the culmination of that.

“So in our opinion, Halo: Reach is the best Halo game bar none.”

Jarrard elaborated as to why Reach will be such a great game for Halo fans, going through the series games one by one.

“It’s definitive for fans who love Halo 2’s multiplayer as we have pushed that further, we have kept and improved upon the storytelling elements of Halo ODST and we have added new features based on Halo 3,” said Jarrard.

“So this is the game that defines Bungie’s Halo and this is the game that will set the bar for all Halo games to come.”
