Tell us, how does said “hot cakes” taste like? Do they taste delicious?
EA COO John Schappert has told IG that 3DS is an “incredibly cool” device that will “sell like hot cakes.”
“The 3DS is just incredibly cool. The 3DS is magical,” he said.
“You put that in your hand, you look down, and all of a sudden it’s in 3D without glasses. That’s an amazing experience. I’m a huge fan.”
He added further: “I think that device is going to sell like hot cakes. I think it’s going to do incredibly well, and in typical Nintendo fashion they have re-energized the industry, yet again. I give them nothing but credit and we are excited to be supporting that platform with Madden, FIFA, and The Sims that we announced.”
He also said that PSP was currently “challenged”, but would like to see Sony “breathe new life.”
He also had a parting shot for his friends at Activision regarding the Infinity Ward situation, something he talked a bit about back at GDC in March.
“Stories of late [regarding Activision] haven’t been very positive. And we couldn’t be happier to have Jason [West] and Vince [Zampella] as part of our EA Partners program, or Ted Price of Insomniac.
“I would say we’re two very, very different companies. What we try to be is a company that embodies creative development, that fosters the development of games, that treats talent as well as you possibly can, because at the end of the day, that’s what our industry is and that’s what our company is.”
Burn. Not sure Sledgehammer boss Glenn Schofield would agree, mind.
