Team Fortress 2 Engineer update kicks-off, reveals new shotgun

So, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Good movie, right?

Well, we're pretty sure Valve just made it better.

Instead of flimsy, forge-able little golden tickets, Valve's stirring its players into a frenzy with golden wrenches. Basically, each time you craft an item, there's a small chance your tinkering will also give birth to a bouncing baby wrench. Here's the kicker, though: there are only 100 of the construction tools-turned-bludgeoning-instruments total.

For every 25 golden wrenches crafted, Valve's unveiling a new Engineer item - all of which will culminate in the Engineer Update going live on Thursday.

So far, players have managed to crash through the first 25-wrench ceiling, and Valve has revealed the Frontier Justice shotgun for their troubles. It takes the place of the standard shotgun and - in exchange for a 50 percent reduction in magazine size and no random crits - deals "revenge crits," which occur based on how many poor saps your sentry guns have blown to colorful confetti.

Clearly, Valve understands a fundamental rule that Willy Wonka could never quite wrap his big, purple-hatted noggin around. See, there's just one thing in the entire world that's more delicious than chocolate: revenge.
