Portal 2 videos explain gameplay, story

Two new E3 videos have popped up for Portal 2, giving a brief overview of both story and gameplay.

During the first video your character is seen meeting a personality sphere, who tries to help you escape. Unfortunately he isn't the brightest sphere in the world and ends up waking Glados from her slumber.

The second video focuses more on the gameplay, with the developer explaining features such as the tractor beams, which you can send through portals to help you solve puzzles; the Aerial Faith Plate, which you can use to fling yourself or objects through the world; and also the Thermal Discouragement Beam, which can be used to fire at enemies and to solve problems.

One of the biggest surprises of E3 was Valve confirming Portal 2 would be released for PS3, while also revealing that it would be the best version due to its use of Steamworks.

Valve is expected to launch Portal 2 on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011.
