Rockstar "working hard" to keep up supply of RDR

Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar Games UK GM Neil Stephen has told MCV that the publisher is "working hard" in trying to get more supply sorted for Red Dead Redemption across the land, but promised the crisis should be "resolved" by this weekend.

Since the game's release on Friday, the western has seen a massive shortage throughout high street stores and supermarkets, with the firm even in a dispute with supermarket Asda over the game, which has since been resolved.

"We have seen very strong demand for Red Dead Redemption at launch which did impact on availability for gamers in some locations unfortunately and we’re sorry if that has been the case," Stephen told the site.

"We have been working hard with all our partners to get more stock into stores to meet the ongoing demand as quickly as possible and we believe the situation should be resolved by this weekend, so we’d like to thank everyone involved for their part in this"

Despite the shortage, the game went to the top of the UK charts this week.
