Crysis 2 platform teams "always in competition"

Crysis 2 producer Nathan Camarillo has told VG247's Patrick Garratt that the two separate teams handling the shooter's PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are racing to create the best SKU.

"We have two really strong internal teams on the programming side working on 360 and PS3 all the time, and they’re always in competition with each other," said Camarillo, speaking after the reveal of the shooter in New York two weeks ago.

He added that the dev teams would try to one-up each other by getting one version to run better than the other for "a week or two," before the other raises its game and takes the lead.

"If you think 'the internet' are going at each other about this, internally our developers are doing this as well," Camarillo said. "For a week or two PS3 will look better, then the 360 guys go, 'No, no, no, we won’t have that,' and they make the 360 version look and play better."

He further said: "In the end, fine, go at it. It’s going to make a better game all round for everybody, so we have that internal battle."
