Splinter Cell: Conviction CE has faulty USB drives, drops by $10

Folks interested in buying the Splinter Cell: Conviction Collector's Edition, or those who have already pre-ordered it, need to know two things.

One: It has dropped in price by $10. Two: It's because of the possibility of faulty USB drives included in it.

According to a Ubisoft representative speaking with Joystiq, the official price is now $69.99 instead of $79.99 because some of the drives in the package were not working properly.

Despite this bit of a snafu, there is still loads of stuff in the box, such as: a comic book, art book, bonus DLC, and the game - which is working just fine.

However, Joystiq notes that the bonus content included on the USB drive may not work in some copies, which means the art and a behind the scenes video, will be distributed by Ubisoft in another form post launch.

Make sure when you pick it up if you have pre-ordered it that the guy behind the counter rings it up for $10 less though, just to be safe.

Splinter Cell: Conviction hits stores for Xbox 360 Tuesday in the US and Friday in the UK.

The PC version’s been delayed until 29.

IGN went live with a review score for it overnight, and gave it a 9.3. Edge gave it an 8.
