Halo: Reach beta to contain “huge chunk” of sandbox play

The Halo: Reach beta, due to start on May 3, is going to contain a sizeable amount of play, if Bungie’s Brian Jarrard is to be believed.

“The public beta is going to include a huge chunk of Reach sandbox goodness,” the developer told Game Informer.

“I think players will actually be surprised at how much is there, but in order to maintain the core game experience and get useful feedback, we needed to include a well-rounded offering.”

Don’t worry, though. The freebie isn’t going to spoil the final experience.

“Suffice it to say there will still be surprises waiting in the final game this fall,” Jarrard added.

There’s a ton of information through there on what’s the be included in the beta, such as weapons, vehicles, maps and so on. Great interview: give it some time.
