God of War III is "fluff," says Cave Story developer

God of War III is epic. No doubt about that. But it's "fluff" too, according to the developer of WiiWare title Cave Story.

Tyrone Rodriguez, speaking in an interview with GoNintendo, said on the state of triple A games: "If you're talking disc games, we're going to see more big budget games with less gameplay and more fluff -- think God of War III.

"We're also going to see a lot more free-to-play with in-game transactions. It's like the middle-ground for games is going away - it's either really expensive or really quick and cheap."

God of War III released last week for PlayStation 3. Get the first 15 minutes here. Cave Story, meanwhile, is out now on WiiWare.
