Retailer: PS3 to drop 200g in hardware revision

ps3slim

A Japanese retailer is claiming that Sony is to drop PS3's weight from its current 3.2kg to 3.0kg.

The change will be made as the machine changes in model number from CECH-2000A to CECH-2100A, Andriasang reports.

There's no news as to why the console's about to get a little lighter. Let's hope they didn't strip out some of the power.

This appears to confirm the Sony's about to move to a new PS3 model, following news of the company filing two new spec numbers with the FCC.
