Looks like Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter on XBLA was the number one game on the service for January with 35,211 players.
Good for Sam.
Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment came in second with 20,873, Death by Cube was third at 3,891, and KrissX fourth with 2,615 players.
Matt Hazard: Blood, Bath and Beyond, had no data available (via Joystiq, GamerBytes).
The next episode is Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, which was announced back in November and is slated for an April release.
