PS3 firmware update 3.15 now a mandatory install

ps3firmware315

Sony has announced that PS3 firmware update 3.15, released in December as an optional update, is now mandatory.

Adding a LAN cable transfer feature between PS3s, the update also adds a Minis emulator to PS3.

Along with these nifty features, the update also improves system stability during use of some software.

If you’ve already performed the update, there’s no need to do anything.

If you are using an older version of the firmware, you will be prompted to update when you start up your system and when you access any network features.

The full list of what the update entails can be found over on the US PS Blog.
