December NPD '09 - Modern Warfare 2 biggest selling PS3 title in the US during 2009, says SCEA

SCEA's confirmed that the biggest selling title for the PS3 during 2009 was - surprise, surprise - Modern Warfare 2.

The IW juggernaut sold 2.8 million units on the console.

Tonight, it appeared fifth in the software charts in the NPD for the month of December, selling over 1.12 million units.

Last month, during the November NPD, it had sold 1.87 million units.

SCEA also confirmed Madden NFL '10 and Assassin's Creed II were two of the other biggest selling software for the console, although no exact numbers were given for them.

Earlier this week, Activision announced it had now grossed $1 billion since its release back in November of last year.

Chart-Track confirmed also this week that the shooter was the biggest selling game in the UK during '09 on all platforms, as well as PS3 and Xbox 360.
