Capcom developing Natal game based on old franchise

Capcom’s Christian Svensson has told G4 the the company is working on a Natal game based on an existing IP.

“I think you’ll see again a brand focus on what we’re doing there [on Natal], perhaps a brand we haven’t seen in a while. That’s exciting,” said Svensson.

Capcom did stress this Natal content was brand new, as opposed to Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition PlayStation Motion Controller support.

“What we’re doing is creating it from the ground up for Natal, in this case. But it’s; how do I describe this? it’s created from the ground up for Natal. We’re not looking at Natal as, ‘OK, here’s a little Natal gimmick that we’ve worked into some existing game.”

Natal was announced for a Holiday 2010 release last week at CES.

  • Dance Central almost had its own hardware

It’s hard to imagine that Dance Central was in development before Kinect was even announced, but Harmonix is now saying that the game was slated to have its own peripheral before Project Natal hit the scene.

  • Toulouse: Kinect is the "perfect name"

Microsoft’s director of policy and enforcement for Xbox Live  Stephen Toulouse has said that he believes Kinect is the perfect name for the motion device previously known as Project Natal.
