Staff at Monolith, Surreal and Snowblind laid-off by Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. has made a number of layoffs at Monolith Productions, Surreal Software, and Snowblind Studios.

"We are committed to growing Warner Bros. in the game space and will be retaining robust teams in our Seattle studios," read a statement given to IGN.

"We have been moving towards sharing certain resources across the studios and have also been reallocating resources to align talent with our development needs.

"Unfortunately, we had a few too many resources in certain functions and some positions were eliminated in this process. Our plan is to continually review staffing needs and as future projects evolve we would expect to see the studios grow."

Neither Monolith nor Snowblind are reportedly working on new projects, but Surreal's currently developing This is Vegas, which was originally slated to be released in 2009.

Snowblind was acquired by Warner in February of last year, and purchased Surreal and Mortal Kombat team, Midway Games Chicago (now WB Chicago) after parent company Midway went kaput.
