Star Trek Online to kick off with Borg battle

Star Trek Online will kick off with a Borg battle when the game launches on February 2. Exciting, huh?

In the game's opening tutorial, as reported by Massively, you are given orders to rescue a ship under attack from the Borg.

Once you rescue the ship, it's then yours to command, and you must prove that you are worthy of the title "captain".

There will also be references to the TV shows and movies as you go along. Rather obviously.

Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy have lent their voices in the game, though Nimoy doesn't appear as Spock, sadly: they are in fact voicing as an Emergency Medical Hologram and a narrator, respectively.

The game is available now to pre-purchase.
