DS big hardware winner in Japan last year, says Famitsu

According to figures released by Famitsu/Enterbrain, DS was the big winner in the hardware race last year in Japan, selling just over 4 million units.

The handheld's lifetime sales in Japan now stand at 29 million.

Wii outsold PS3 in '09 to win the battle on the home console front: Wii sold 1.9 million units, compared to PS3's 1.7 million.

The machines have now sold 9.5 million units and 4.3 million units in Japan respectively.
