Rumor: Nintendo to release new DSi with bigger screens

Is it time for another Nintendo DS iteration already? Fortunately for our wallets, the answer appears to be “no” – for now, anyway. However, according to a Nikkei Shimbun report obtained by Wired’s GameLife blog, Nintendo is touching up the DSi in a few crucial areas.

If the report is to be believed, Nintendo’s set to release a DSi with 4″ screens – a nice chunk of added real estate over the current model’s 3.25″. It’s supposedly coming out this year.

Can you guess what Nintendo said when asked about this hardware revision? “We don’t respond to rumors.” Oh Nintendo, you crazy kook – what won’t you say?
