EA: Forum banning does not ban you from all EA games

EA has sought to clarify an obviously daft rumour that if a user was banned from an EA forum they would be banned from playing EA games altogether. In short, it's bollocks.

"Players who have been banned from EA Forums are not automatically banned from online access to their other EA games. Posting in EA Forums is enabled by an EA Nucleus account -- but access to the forums and access to the games are separate," said a rep.

"Players can be banned if they breach the Terms of Service or Code of Conduct in a forum, game, or service. Each forum, game, and service is managed independently by customer support representatives responsible for that specific forum, game or service."

Various sites reported a comment made by Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 community manager Aaron "apoc" Kaufman earlier this week, who told forum users that if they acted in a way that violated the Terms of Service agreement they would not only be banned from all EA forums but from playing any games they purchased as well since their community login is directly tied to their EA master account.
