Mass Effect movie rights optioned by Avi Arad

According to this Variety post, the movies rights to Mass Effect have been optioned by producer Avi Arad, previously a long-time head of Marvel's movie business.

Neither EA or Arad have made any comment on this, and bear in mind rights get optioned for properties approximately every three second in Hollywood: it doesn't necessarily mean a movie's going to happen.
