hawx.jpg

Ubisoft is to use images taken by the spectacularly named IKONOS satellite as backdrops for Tom Clancy's HAWX, the company's announced.

According to a press statement, the IKONOS - makes us hard - satellite has been used for "US national security, mapping, air and marine transportation, environmental monitoring and insurance risk management."

IKONOS - doesn't fail - began snapping images in late 1999. Some of the satellite's images can be seen here.
