The Square Enix DKΣ3713 party in Tokyo has confirmed overnight that Final Fantasy XIII will release next year in Japan, not in 2008 as many had hoped.

In addition, a playable demo for the game will be released on with the Blu-ray movie Advent Children: Complete.

Don't forget that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of FF XIII will release simultaneously in the west, with localisation starting after the Japanese version's finished. So you're going to be waiting a good while yet.
