MK8 was scrapped, says Boon

Kotaku reports that Mortal Kombat co-creator, Ed Boon, has said that as soon as the deal with DC Comics for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was solidified, all plans for Mortal Kombat 8 were scrapped.
Mortal Kombat 8 was shown at last year's Midway Gamer's Day, and was said to have been heavily influenced by the look and feel of Gears of War.
