Sony pulls Firmware 2.40

"Whoops." According to various reports, Sony's removed Firmware 2.40 from its servers following mass reports of system lock-ups.

Several threads on the US PlayStation boards came to light earlier today saying the software was causing PS3s to simply stop working.

The firm said it was investigating the complaints earlier this evening and has now removed the software entirely.
