Pachter: 360 outsold PS3 in the US in May

Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter just issued a research note saying he expects that Xbox 360 outsold PS3 in the US last month.

"We estimate sell-through of 750,000 Wii, 250,000 Xbox 360 and 225,000 PS3 consoles. For purposes of comparison, The simExchange prediction market forecasts 744,000 Wii, 216,000 Xbox 360 and 228,000 PS3 consoles sold, while VGChartz forecasts 645,327 Wii, 191,992 Xbox 360 and 177,989 PS3 consoles sold.

"Our console sell-through forecasts reflect our belief that supplies for Wii hardware were steady this month, and our belief that Xbox 360 and PS3 hardware sales grew early in the month due to higher attach rates to GTA IV."

Pachter's comments come ahead of this week's May NPD data.
