Itagaki slags off Devil May Cry

devilmaycry4a2.jpg

Team Ninja boss Tomonobu Itagaki thinks Devil May Cry's s**t. Well, not quite, but not far off.

"I think Kamiya-san makes good games," he said in this OXM interview, speaking of Devil May Cry boss Hideki Kamiya. "However, I think they, the systems, gameplay elements in his game tend to be rather shallow and he makes up with that through stylish presentation. I think if you were to compare them directly, the combat and other gameplay elements in Ninja Gaiden II are much deeper than projects that he works on."

Itagaki, who made the comment on the eve of Ninja Gaiden II's launch, isn't exactly know for his modesty. Let's hope his game lives up to it.
