Over 2 million GTA IV Achievements unlocked in first 24 hours

Speaking in the latest Major Nelson podcast, guest "e", who's most recently been working on getting Xbox Live ready for GTA IV's launch, has revealed a fairly startling stat regarding initial Achievement scoring for the game.

"In the first 24 hours, over 2 million Achievements were unlocked for a total of 15 million gamer score," he said.

It was announced this week that around a million people had played the game on live in the first 24 hours from launch this week, a fact reiterated by e. It sounds as though the pull away from other games has been strong.

"More than 1.5 million cross-game invites," said e. "Again, this is in the first 24 hours."

There's not much more fact-worthy in the podcast aside from the Major and e saying how amazing the game is. A lot. Have fun.
