Chinese developer Gamestar bought by Disney

Next-Gen.biz is reporting that Disney Interactive has acquired Chinese developer Gamestar.

“Gamestar will play an important role in our global growth plans, providing a high quality talent pool for our expanding product portfolio,” said Disney Interactive boss Graham Hopper. “Our global expansion is aimed at achieving a new level of creative capacity, quality, and expertise in videogame software development.”

In 2007, DI also acquired Warren Spector's Junction Point Studios, and also shoulders Fall Line Studio, Avalanche Software, Propaganda Games and Black Rock Studio.

According to Disney's website, the Chinese acquisition takes its employee-count to 800.
