Ubisoft to make Clancy MMO

According to this, Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot has just said that the publisher will now move ahead with the development of a Tom Clancy-based MMO. His comments were made in a conference call following the announcement of Ubisoft's purchase of the Clancy IP.

Guillemot explained that the company had never been able to go forward with the game up to now because the cost of ongoing royalties from the title would have made the entire project prohibitive. However now Ubisoft has a royalty free license on the Clancy brand "we've really decided now to go for an MMO on the Clancy name, which is big," said the Frenchman.

No time-frame was given for the game's release.
