Zoo Tycoon on Xbox One will be a timed, physical exclusive for Walmart, Microsoft has told IGN, however, those who prefer a digital version will still be able to download the title through the Xbox Games Store. The exclusivity period will last from November 22 – January 31. The game will be made available on Xbox 360 at all major retailers.

Zoo Tycoon will make use of community-wide conservation efforts in the game which will help raise awareness of endangered species. The game will also introduce dynamic achievements based on real-world animal-related events, where when each player unlocks each specific achievement, money will be donated to the corresponding cause. Frontier Developments has detailed how this will work a bit more.

Zoo Tycoon developer Blue Fang has announced that it has reduced its staff by 15, citing the action as “necessary”.
According to the company website the team made redundant had developed a successful proprietary tool and tech to make “multi-platform products in less time and with significantly fewer resources”, reports Joystiq.
The new tech allows Blue Fang to “adjust both the size and mix of [the] development team going forward”.
World of Zoo, the company’s latest title, is expected to be released on DS, PC and Wii this autumn.

Blue Fang, National Geographic and THQ today announced World of Zoo forDS, PC and Wii.
It’s made by the Zoo Tycoon guys.
The game lets you care for 90 different animals, create your own park with 20 exhibits, and mad scientist design unique creatures.
Ok we made up the “mad scientist” bit, but what else would you call “creating your own creatures”.
It’s expected by the end of the year.
