Undead Labs releases video tour of studio, open-world zombie shooter “Class 3″
Undead Labs has released a video tour, of its studio as well as a look at gameplay footage of its open-world zombie shooter, known for the moment as Class 3. Currently in the early stages of alpha testing, one of the scenes in the video posted below shows the game’s ambush functionality, while another has people trying to barricade themselves in a building with one character suffering the consequences for not working fast enough. The game is slated for a release on Xbox Live upon completion, and will serve as a prequel and “platform” to its second zombie game in the works, Class 4, an MMO the firm announced back in 2009. Thanks, MMOcrunch.

What a twist! Yakuza: Of The End is – no joke – a zombie shooter

It’s not April. Our little totem thing isn’t spinning for eternity, so we’re not dreaming. We still don’t understand the appeal of Glenn Beck, so we’re not insane.
Yep. This is happening.

Zombies in CoD: Black Ops? Maybe, maybe not

Those who played Call of Duty: World at War are very familiar with zombies thanks to Map Pack 3, but if you’re holding out hope that the walking dead will make an appearance in Treyarch’s next COD title, Black Ops, well - you’ll just have to wait and see.

Zombies invade Australia, protest lack of R18+ game rating

Zombies invaded Australia again this year. Luckily for the continent they weren’t the types hellbent on a gray matter feast, though.
Instead, the undead came in droves to protest the lack of an R18+ game rating.

Zombies and Nazis? In Modern Warfare 2? Over Infinity Ward’s dead body

We’re not gonna lie. Even considering the facts that 1) many people died in World War II and 2) a great deal of them were – in fact – Nazis, we always felt that Nazi Zombies felt a bit, well, out of place in COD: World at War.
Heck, the only way they’d be more out of place is if the game took place in modern times!

Ken Levine reveals Irrational’s canned zombie shooter, Division 9

In this month’s issue of Game Informer, the mag sat down with Irrational’s Ken Levine to chat about Division 9 – a zombie shooter that was scrapped by the firm.
The game would’ve put players in the middle of a zombie infested environment complete with co-op gameplay, “scarce resources, base-building, and strategic rescues” to content with. Sound familiar?

Zombies are the new Nazis, says Mr Guild Wars
Here comes the news. And it’s news about being able to kill zombies in videogames without feeling guilty.
“The reason zombies are so powerful and transcend fantasy is because right now they are the modern, societal guilt-free meat-puppet,” Guild Wars creator Jeff Strain has told Eurogamer.
“We’ve been through the Nazi phase, we’ve been through the communist phase, we’ve been through the terrorist phase. Those were all at various times in history fair game in the gaming culture. Right now zombies are fulfilling that need for us.
“That no-rules, no-guilt mentality is something that people really resonate with,” he said.
Using a zombie as a “guilt-free meat-puppet” could go either way, quite frankly. Semi.
More through there.

First Borderlands DLC announced, features zombies and mad doctors

Being excited about Borderlands’ imminent release is so last week. Now it’s all about the zany RPG-shooter’s upcoming DLC, which looks – to us, anyway – very Halloweeny (tee-hee!). Want to know more? Of course you do! So here’s a description:
“Tasked with keeping the workers of Jakobs Cove alive, Dr. Ned (who is not related to Dr. Zed from Fyrestone) does his job a little too well, creating zombies and other abominations that now run rampant in this region. Players will have to work alongside Dr. Ned as they embark on a quest to cure the inhabitants of Jakobs Cove in this full-fledged expansion filled with new enemies, new quests and rare loot drops.”
$9.99′s the asking price for this co-op undead slaughter-fest. Left 4 what now? We don’t even know!
Giant Bomb managed to scare up a few screens of the creepy crawly content, should you wish to spoil Borderlands’ main course by nibbling at a bit of desert first.
The DLC’s out “later this year.”

CoD: World at War Map Pack 3 video is infected with zombies

A video for Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 has landed on IGN.
It’s more or less a music video featuring zombies and zombie dogs coming after everyone and getting shot and blown up in the process.
Rather entertaining.
The new DLC includes three new multiplayer maps and one zombie level.
It’s out in August.
Watch after the jump.
