The Elder Scrolls Online will be playable at Gamescom in August, ZeniMax Online has announced. It’s presence will allow “thousands” the opportunity to play the MMO at Bethesda’s booth. A video has turned up online showing almost 20 minutes of The Elder Scrolls Online, presumably captured from a recent beta event. It demonstrates the character creator, dialogue, and the player dashing about a sandy environment, fighting wolves and doing emotes.

Zenimax Online has issued another round of beta invites for The Elder Scrolls Online. If you registered to test the upcoming MMORPG, be sure to check your spam folder over the next few days. This test is quite a small one, though, so don’t be too alarmed if you don’t get in this time; the developer has promised more and larger testing events over the coming months. The Elder Scrolls Online will support first-person gameplay, other preview nuggets

The Elder Scrolls Online playable at PAX East
The Elder Scrolls Online will be playable at PAX East, should you be attending the Boston show this weekend. As well as sending staff to appear in a number of panels, Bethesda is making the MMORPG the focus of a special event, with competitions, food, music and more. Full details are available on the Bethesda Blog. The Elder Scrolls Online launches on PC later this year. PAX East runs March 22 through 24.

The Elder Scrolls Online lore gives Emeric’s backstory
The Elder Scrolls Online has added a new story to its collection, telling of the rise of Daggerfall Covenant ruler High King Emeric. This is the third instalment in Zenimax Online’s series, with previous episodes introducing Aldmeri Dominion queen Ayrenn and Ebonheart pack leader Jorunn the Skald King. The Elder Scrolls Online is expected in 2013 and is taking beta sign ups.

Zenimax Online invites all fans to name an NPC character in The Elder Scrolls Online. The Nameless Mage is part of a quest detailed in a new blog post, and whoever comes up with the best appelation will not only see their creation used in the finished MMORPG, but also score an “awesome prize pack”. Werewolves, daedra, and vampires will feel your blade in TESO
Game Informer has released a video which shows a bit of monster combat in The Elder Scrolls Online. If you are familiar with the franchise, you’ll recognize the werewolves, daedra, and vampires. Nice. The video also features the game’s creature combat designer and lead gameplay designer discussing which nasty creatures from the series will be returning and where they will be located.
