XSEED has added another game from Nihon Falcom’s back catalogue to its slow-but-steadily growing collection of Steam releases. Ys Origin dates back to 2006 so if you’re a hardcore fan (as most people who recognise the word “Ys” are) you’ve probably already played it, but this is the first officially localised Englished version to hit the west. XSEED has announced Ys Origin will release on Steam May 31 for $19.99/€15.99/£12.99. The game tells the back story of the twin goddesses Reah and Feena, has three playable characters, and after the game is completed, players can try out Time Attack, Boss Rush, and Arena modes. It comes with widescreen support, is localized, and had Steamworks integration.

XSEED has localized Ys Origin and will release the game on Steam later this month, according to Siliconera. The game details the back story of the twin Goddesses Reah and Feena and contains three playable characters – each with its own story and gameplay. After the core game is completed, players will be able to try out Time Attack, Boss Rush, and Arena modes. Upon release, the game will contain widescreen support and Steamworks integration.

Xseed has announced it will release Falcom’s Ys: The Oath in Felghana and Ys Origin on Steam March 19 for $14.99.
