Those in the US looking for a gaming deal this weekend should head over to Amazon and digitally download XCOM: Enemy Unknown if they don’t already own it. The game along with the Elite Soldier and Slingshot DLC can be had for a mere $10. XCOM’s Enemy Within expansion is coming out on November 12, and it will run you $30 by itself, so this is a bargain, and comparable to the $40 Commander Edition coming to PS3 and Xbox 360. Thanks, Joystiq.

2K has been really quiet regarding XCOM of late, until it recently went so far as to remove official videos from its YouTube channel and taking the website offline. Last month, a report from Superannuation stated that the game may be in the process of a re-brand due to domain registrations for “thebureau-game.com” and “whathappenedin62.com” popping up – so the culled assets and information seemed to indicate this. Today, Videogamer posted a video of XCOM related contents it received in the mail, proving – hopefully- that it is indeed a re-brand and not an all out cancellation. Watch for yourself below. Thanks, SplatteredHouse.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown lead designer Jake Solomon has said to expect more DLC for the game this year, as Slingshot and Second Wave are just the start. “We do have more content coming in 2013,” he told Polygon. “We’re working on something really awesome.” A release window wasn’t provided, as Solomon said it will take the team “some time” to complete the work. Solomon did say, though, that the next DLC wouldn’t have the “limited scope” of the Slingshot DLC.
