Xbox 360 moves 750,000 units in US over Black Friday weekend
Microsoft has announced that on Black Friday weekend more than 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold in the US, exceeding the firm’s internal forecasts. Three month Gold subscriptions also increased 50% year-over-year for the same period in 2011, and to top things off, on Sunday, November 25, 14 million were playing on Xbox Live worldwide – which equates to 72 million hours of use in one day. This is a 43% increase in US “application hours” logged on Xbox Live during Black Friday week. Via Major Nelson.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 arriving on European PSN this month, XBL and eShop release to follow
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be available to download digitally through European PSN on November 21. Namco Bandai has also confirmed the alliterative fighter is heading to Xbox Live Games on Demand in late December, although no specific date has been given.

Xbox Live back up: Microsoft blames updates for the issue in statement
Xbox Live is back up after users reported difficulty trying to sign into the service via Xbox 360 and PCs. Microsoft issued a statement stating it was working to fix it. Major Nelson just tweeted: “the issues with Xbox LIVE are now fixed.”

Mark of the Ninja get debut trailer and screens
Klei Entertainment has released the debut trailer and some gameplay screenshots for upcoming 2D side-scrolling stealth platformer Mark of the Ninja. New SSX trailer shows off Mt. Eddie and Tricky
EA’s released a brand new trailer and pile of screens for SSX and it gives you a sneak peak of one of the game’s upcoming content drops – The SSX Mt. Eddie & Classic Characters DLC pack. The trailer shows some of the classic characters which’re part of the pack as well as giving you a closer look at Mt. Eddie – a tricky inspired, ultra-long mountain which features 9 new races and trick drops. It’ll also come with three classic SSX music tracks. Xbox Live free this weekend for various apps trial
Microsoft plans to unlock its Xbox LIVE subscription service starting this Thursday, April 19 until Monday, April 23 for everyone. This includes Silver members, who will be able to try out the various apps available on the service. Also, Hulu Plus2, Netflix3 and EPIX4 will will offering free trials to new users as part of this promotion in the US during the same period. The full list of apps unlocking for those in the US is posted below, other regions should check with the Xbox 360 dashboard for specific details. You will still need XBL Gold status to play games online. This is for the apps only.
