You can all get on and download Sam & Max now. And Rocket Riot, which is supposedly great.

Microsoft signs NBC Universal movies for XBLM

A Microsoft deal with NBC Universal will see 30 of the firm’s films brought to XBLM in Europe, including Shaun of the Dead, The Fast and the Furious and The Bourne Supremacy.
The titles, already available in the UK and Ireland, will release in France, Germany and Spain in the coming weeks.
“NBC Universal has a fantastic reputation in the film world and have some true blockbusters in their portfolio,” said Xbox Europe marketing boss David Gosen.
“We are delighted to be working with them to bring major titles from Universal Pictures into Xbox Live living rooms – this is all part of our ongoing strategy to make Xbox a major entertainment hub.”

NXE team working on Marketplace “issues”
Nelson’s posted to say the NXE team is aware that Xbox Live Marketplace is experiencing some “issues” – as in, it’s not working properly – but that in general, yesterday’s release of the New Xbox Experience was “incredible”.
“As you can imagine, it’s been an incredible day so far for the New Xbox Experience,” said the exec.
“It’s great to see so much enthusiasm… it sounds like you are having fun exploring NXE. With an update of this magnitude, reaching more than 14 million people around the globe, we are aware some of you may be experiencing a few hiccups along the way.
“The LIVE team is closely monitoring the LIVE service and Xbox.com and are aware of a few issues including what’s happening with Marketplace. The team is actively working on the issues, so thanks for bearing with us.”
Some problems did pop up yesterday, but all told the release went remarkably smoothly.

NXE: Marketplace errors reported, Netflix log-in issues resolved
We’ve been hearing plenty of reports throughout the day of patchy access to the new Xbox Live marketplace following this morning’s launch of NXE, as has Kotaku.
The problems have been occurring for both the website and 360 interfaces.
The UI update his another snag in the form of US users not being able to access Netflix, one of the upgrade’s main features, but, according to this Nelson post, the problem’s been resolved.
Aside from that, there doesn’t appear to be any other major hiccup with the NXE roll-out. So big hugs all round.

Xbox.com web-based marketplace almost launched, Avatars spotted
Xbox.com went down for maintenance earlier today, and came back with the promised web-based Marketplace – complete with “coming soon” graphic.
The new feature will allow people to buy stuff from Live then download it to their 360s later on, which is probably pretty cool.
Also, as you can see here if you’re logged in to Xbox.com, Avatars are now being included on profile pages for those who already have NXE.
And if you haven’t, the wait’s almost over: it launches tomorrow.
