Mists of Pandaria approved for release in China
Mists of Pandaria has been approved for release in China by the Chinese government. According to figures crunched by the Chicago Tribune, 60% of China’s 540 million people play games on the Internet, which is a potential 324 million players which World of Warcraft could garner a subscription from. Mists of Pandaria released in the west on September 25, but there isnn’t an announced date for China as of yet. Thanks, PCGamesN.

WoW’s Guild Mentoring Program has gone live, participants listed
World of Warcraft’s Guild Mentoring Program has gone live, and a list of Guilds ready to hold your hand through Azeroth has been compiled. Blizzard began recruiting Guilds for the mentoring program back in July. The chosen mentoring Guilds have “temporarily changed their names for the occasion,” according to PCGamesN, and you can find a list of participating Guilds through the link.

Blizzard issued a response regarding the inability to access Battle.net or World of Warcraft servers from Iran. According to the post, the issue stems from applied US sanctions instead of government bans on specific content – although the latter is still true as well.

World of Warcraft Remote subscription service goes free
World of Warcraft Remote subscription service is now free, according to Blizzard. This means, if you are a WoW subscriber, you no longer have to pay for it. All of the features which were previously part of the optional subscription service are now available for free starting today. You can get a list of the features available through here. In order to use the service, you will need to download the World of Warcraft Mobile Armory app, which is free for Android, iPhone, or iPod touch.

Mists of Pandaria arrives in late September, so get prepared now by snapping up the rest of World of Warcraft’s content for next to nothing. Blizzard is throwing a 75% off sale to celebrate the impending expansion, with the Battle Chest (base game and Burning Crusade) for $5, Wrath of the Lich King for $5, and Cataclysm for $10. WoW – all races including Pandaren to be available with patch 5.0.4
Blizzard has announced that when World of Warcraft patch 5.0.4 releases, all races in the game can be played by anyone, no matter which version or expansion of the MMO they own. WoW server blade auction raises $330,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Blizzard has announced its charity auction of retired World of Warcraft server blades has raised $330,000. The auction went live in October 2011, and featured a selection of blades which once housed WoW realms. All funds raised through the eBay auctions went to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Cross-realm zones coming to Mists of Pandaria beta
Blizzard will introduce cross-realm zones into the Mists of Pandaria beta. This will allow players to meet up and group with others in under populated areas of the world such as low level zones or areas which have been out-leveled by higher-level players. Cross-realm will allow players to form a group with others from “within a select pool of realms” in order to quest while the social structures of players’ home realms will remain intact. World of Warcraft patch 4.3.4 contains customer support changes
Blizzard will implement new customer support interfaces with patch 4.3.4 which will allow players to report harassment, naming violations, and potential cheating directly through the game client. Blizzard has 100,000 Mists of Pandaria beta keys ready for WoW Annual Pass holders
Blizzard has said it has set aside 100,000 Mists of Pandaria beta keys to World of Warcraft Annual Pass holders, and the keys will be handed to them first before anyone who has “opted-in.” Due to such a a large amount of account holders, the firm said it’s adding people slowly so as not to flood the system with users which would ultimately break it before a proper stress test can be put in place. The first wave of invites were sent out earlier in the week, so don’t fret if you have yet to get one. Just keep an eye on your inboxes and Battle.net accounts, according to the firm.
