Vendetta Online now available on Windows 8 and Windows RT
Vendetta Online, the indie sci-fi MMO from Guild Software, has been released on the Windows Store for Windows 8. According to Massively, the game “syncs seamlessly” across PCs, Macs, Linux systems, tablets, and Windows RT. A free trial is available through the game’s website.

Epic Games and NVIDIA presented the first public demonstration of Unreal Engine 3 running on Windows 8 and Windows RT during Asus’ press conference at the IFA 2012 electronics trade show in Berlin. The live, real-time demonstration of the Epic Citadel app was shown running on the lovely Asus Vivo Tab RT. You can see it below in the video. Epic also announced that Unreal Engine 3 licensees may access Windows RT code at the Unreal Developer Network, and senior technical artist and level designer, Alan Willard, will showcase the Unreal Engine 4 “Elemental” real-time demonstration at PAX Prime on September 1, at NVIDIA’s booth from 12.30 to 1.30pm. Windows 8 farewells Live ID, welcomes Microsoft Account
Microsoft has announced Windows Live will be re-branded as Microsoft Account with the release of Windows 8. The cloud services featured in the OS will be an update to the Live platform in which users will create an identity to be used across Microsoft services such as Xbox 360 to SkyDrive and more. MS is changing the service in order to implement “a truly connected experience,” which it felt Live ID didn’t live up to. Report – Microsoft to preview Zune replacement during E3, codenamed Woodstock
Microsoft is poised to preview its replacement for Zune during E3, according to a report on Polygon. The service, codenamed Woodstock, will not only be available through the Xbox 360 dashboard, but will be cross-compatible for Windows 8, Android, and iOS through a browser. It is being described by the site’s source as “Spotify-like”, and browser plugins won’t be required. It also works with Facebook by allowing followers to build group playlists and share tracks. The source also claimed it will contain a function similar to iTunes Match which will allow users to find and import their music collection into the service. The service is expected to launch with Windows 8.
