Kotaku sends word that Monster Hunter 3′s receiving a extra additions en route to its Western release – you know, aside from that whole “English language” option we’re so fond of around here.

First up, the cooperative monster mash is probably losing its subscription fee when it crosses the pond.

“It’s something that we’re looking into at the moment and there are a few factors to consider. Firstly, Monster Hunter isn’t as popular in the West, so it might put people off. Secondly, Japan doesn’t have Friend Codes, so Capcom run all the servers and the monthly fee is essentially to pay for those costs,” Capcom’s Chris Kramer said.

In addition, Capcom producer Ryozo Tsjmoto said that the publisher is currently “looking into” possible Wii Speak functionality for the game.

Catastrophe this morning for the Nordic region, as news hits that the Animal Crossing-Wii Speak bundle won’t be available in Norway, Denmark and Sweden.

Apparently our Northern cousins will be able to buy the game and microphone peripheral separately, but not in the same pack.

Expect viking fury about this over the course of the day. Or not.

Eurogamer’s got a quote from Nintendo UK confirming you can sell on Wii Speak, despite the fact each comes with a unique code.

“Nintendo can confirm that when consumers purchase the Wii Speak accessory, they are provided with a Wii Download Ticket with a unique number. The ticket, which can be redeemed via the Wii Shop Channel, will enable the user to download the Wii Speak Channel free of charge to a single Wii console,” said a rep.

“Any consumer who may have misplaced their Wii Download Ticket number for the Wii Speak Channel or require a new number following a Wii exchange may contact their local Nintendo Customer Services department, where they can request a replacement Wii Download Ticket number.”

The story originated from this MTV article, which then turned into this bit from Kotaku, but now you need never fret: you will be able to sell your Wii microphone after all.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Nintendo’s confirmed that the Wii Speak peripheral will retail as a standalone product for £25 in the UK.

The microphone will also be bundled with Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City for £59.

Both the bundle and the mic release in Britain on December 5.

Nintendo’s confirmed that both the Wii Speak microphone and Wii Speak Channel will launch on December 5 in Europe.

Wii Speak enables people to connect to and communicate with friends using the free-to-use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection* in a way that is very socially inclusive. Wii Speak can be connected directly to the console and pick up the conversations from an entire room of people, meaning friends and families can all get involved in conversations, sharing gaming and social experiences together. It’s just like using a phone to make a call and chat with other Wii-friends: but with Wii Speak, everyone in the room can get involved in the conversation.

The new Wii Speak Channel, accessed from the Wii’s main menu, allows up to four console users – who can be anywhere in the world – to connect together to chat, or to share pictures and text messages at no extra cost. Once connected, the Wii Speak Channel brings user’s Miis to life: as users’ Miis represent them on-screen during their conversations. When players are talking to each other, their Miis also ‘talk’ to match the sound that is being picked up by the Wii Speak accessory.

It’s out in the US in mid-November.

According to this Destructoid story, Nintendo confirmed at a GameStop manager’s conference in Las Vegas yesterday that the Animal Crossing: City Folk and Wii Speak bundle will cost $70 in the US.

The pack, announced at E3, will be out before the end of the year.

It’s previously been reported that the game will release on November 16 and Wii Speak is to cost $30 as a stadalone peripheral, but this has never been confirmed.

Gamespot is reporting that Animal Crossing: City Folk will be released on November 16, and that the WiiSpeak microphone peripheral will retail at $29.99.
