14-minute White Knights Chronicles movie showing battles, making-of

whiteknightstory2.jpg

After the break there’s a 14-minute movie on Level-5′s White Knight Chronicles. As you do.

The first five minutes takes is of a guided tour of Level-5′s posh Fukuoka studio. CEO and president of Level-5, Akihiro Hino, then goes through eight minutes of the battle system and transforming into the White Knight himself.

The last minute includes some footage seen from the game’s TGS trailer. It’s out on Christmas Day in Japan.

Thanks, PS3F.

New White Knight Chronicles info reveals flying character, magic, attacks

whitenightchronicles1.jpg

According to Famistsu, the black knight in Level-5s RPG, White Knight Chronicles can transform into this rather impressive flying character (pictured above).

Also, players have one-handed swords, which will be ideal for short, close fighting. There are also large, two-handed swords that cause massive damage to enemies with a single blow, but mostly likely due to the weight, you can’t strike your opponents in rapid succession.

For magic, there are two types: Holy Magic and Spirit Magic. The use of magic will drain some of your health. There are four types attributes for Spirit Magic: Fire, Water, Wind and Earth.

Thanks, Kotaku.

White Knight Chronicles’ “key differentiating element” is transforming hero

whiteknightstory7.jpg

Massive update on the US PS Blog here on a White Knight Chronicles presentation at TGS yesterday, in which producer Kentaro Motomura explains that the stellar-looking RPG’s main differentiator is the protagonist’s ability to transform.

Character transformation were shown in the demo, including the White Knight, the Black Knight, and the Dragon Knight, which has a pair of wings, all of which are seven metres high.

There’s a lot of detail through there, and some lovely screens, so do take a look. Game’s out for PS3 in Japan on December 25, with no date yet fixed for the West.

White Knight Chronicles trailered in Tokyo

After the break. The Level-5 RPG does look silly-pretty, to be fair, and appears to have a healthy dose of “awesome,” to boot. This was confirmed as having online co-op yesterday, and so is shaping up as a bit of a hottie.

Out on PS3 on December 25 in Japan, but no date for the West as yet. Take a look.

White Knight Chronicles to feature online co-op

whiteknightstory5.jpg

According to this IGN piece, Level-5′s White Knight Chronicles is to feature online co-op. From the story:

White Knight will feature a cooperative online quest mode. Separate from the single player story mode, the online mode, known in the Japanese version as “Live Part,” will allow four players to team up to work through quests.

While the game’s story mode does not offer co-op play, there is a connection between the story mode and online modes. The character that you use in the online mode will travel in your party during the story mode. Additionally, quests from the online mode can be played single player as well.

White Knight will feature all the expected components of an online title, including a lobby, featuring up to 16 players, an auto matching system, and chat facilities of some form. A robust character creation system was detailed months ago.

The game’s out in Japan on Christmas Day, and will be playable at TGS this week.
