Bethesda prepares to get WET

According to the latest Famitsu, Bethesda has taken over as publisher for A2M shootfest WET.
Originally to be published by Sierra, WET was dropped during the Activision Vivendi merger.
No word on how close to finish the shooter is, or when in October we can expect it.
We’ve put a call in to Bethesda, so hopefully we will have more information for you soon.

New WET trailer has more sliding, shooting

A2M’s posted a new WET trailer on the game’s site, full of acrobatic shooting and a uncomfortably long crotch shot.
Still not sure when the game will be released – thanks to the Sierra buyout – but D’toid has it on good authority it may be as soon as October.
Until official word is announced, just enjoy the video.

WET – Gameplay movie, 2009 release, platforms specified
An off-screen movie of WET gameplay’s popped up on YouTube, showing something akin to a cross between Max Payne, Stranglehold and a Tarantino film.
The A2M-developed game was originally to be published by Sierra – the firm’s still listed as the publisher on the title’s site – and was planned for a 2008 release.
A2M’s site says it’s now coming out in 2009, and has it listed for Xbox 360 and PS3. No platforms were specified when the game was announced.
WET was shown for the first time at Games Convention 2007.
There’s about eight minutes’ worth of footage through there. Have a nose.

Ghostbusters to be “put out to tender”: source
Speaking under conditions of anonymity, a UK source familiar with the situation surrounding the Activision Blizzard merger has confirmed that Ghostbusters has not been canned, and is to be put out to tender.
The game was assumed lost overnight when Activision confirmed that the only Vivendi games to make the transition in Acitivision Blizzard would be Crash Bandicoot, Ice Age, Spyro, Prototype and an as-yet unannounced property.
“I wouldn’t use the word ‘canned’ on Ghostbusters if I were you,” VG247 was told this morning. “It’s basically being put out to tender. Considering where it is in development, hopefully someone else will pick it.”
While the situation with Ghostbusters seems clear, there appears to be some confusion as to the state of play of other IPs such as World in Conflict and Wet.
“I guess that if there are Sierra games that aren’t mentioned in the Activision press release, then they’re part and parcel of the stuff that’s going out to tender, but I don’t know for sure,” said the source.
From the sound of it, the shit is most definitely hitting a lot of fans regarding Activision Blizzard today. More soon.
