Shantae is a Game Boy Colour platformer that seems to have been re-released on every other Nintendo format so far. The 3DS is no different, as the game is getting a Virtual Console port this summer.

DuckTales Remastered has an expanded plot, devs clarify

DuckTales Remastered developer WayForward Technologies has explained that it has heavily expanded on the plot of Capcom’s NES original. To be fair, the original explained very little so this is probably an ace idea.

DuckTales Remastered brings back cartoon’s voice cast

The 1989 NES classic DuckTales didn’t have voice acting, so Capcom called in the voice talent from the animated TV series for the newly-announced DuckTales Remastered.

Mighty Switch Force 2 has been properly announced for a spring release on the 3DS eShop following a screenshot tease yesterday. Developer WayForward has now released a batch of screens and art, as well as a plot synopsis.

Wayforward veterans form Yacht Club Games

Double Dragon Neon director Sean Velasco and five more former members of A Boy and his Blob developer Wayforward have jumped ship – pun intended – to form a new indie studio, Yacht Club Games. The new team has not announced any projects yet but has launched a website and Facebook page and will be at PAX East later this month. The six-man crew has a long list of credits including Contra 4, A Boy and His Blob, Thor: God of Thunder, Mighty Milky Way and BloodRayne Betrayal.

Mighty Switch Force 2 headed to 3DS

Wayforward is developing a sequel to Mighty Switch Force for the 3DS. The follow-up has Patricia Wagon undergoing a surprising career change, apparently, but that’s all we know about it. The announcement was made on Destructoid’s Sup, Holmes? and you can watch the full episode through the break.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories Australian release date locked

Konami’s Australian representatives have confirmed a November 8 launch for Silent Hill: Book of Memories, the top-down co-op action effort for Vita. A demo is available now for the canon-mashing delight, which arrives in the US next week and in Europe in early November. Dave seems a bit non-plussed by it but I’m all for WayForward’s experimentation with the property.

Double Dragon: Neon goes gold, new screens show dragon summoning skills

Double Dragon: Neon is a reboot of the 1987 arcade original developed by masters of all things retro WayForward Technologies, and it’s just gone gold. The game has reportedly gone gold for its 11th September launch on PSN and 12th September on XBLA. PS Plus members can also get it for free from the 12th.

The studio has revealed a new batch of screens to mark the occasion, and we’ve chucked in the most recent trailer too. Enjoy.

Double Dragon Neon lands on PSN, XBLA in September

WayForward Technologies has announced Double Dragon Neon, its 80s style reboot for PSN and XBLA, will release on September 11 and September 12, respectively, for $10 or 800 Microsoft Points. The game contains local and online co-op play, and stars Billy and Jimmy Lee who are fighting many a brute in order to rescue Marian from the clutches of the evil villain Skullmageddon. Gameplay consists of the original’s classic, 2D side-scrolling action with a bit of an “80s flair.”
