Watchmen dev Deadline goes bust

Boomtown’s reporting that Watchmen dev Deadline has filed for bankruptcy.
The Danish firm’s issued a statement saying it’s no longer able to fulfil its financial obligations.

Watchmen PS3 to release as Blu-ray “game and film hybrid”

Warner’s officially announced the multi-format disc versions of the Watchmen games, confirming the PS3 version as a “retail Blu-Ray Hi-Def game and film hybrid”.
It’s out in July alongside the film’s director’s cut.
Both parts of the game will also release for 360 on DVD.

Watchmen games heading to disc retail

Speaking at Nordic Game in Sweden today, Deadline Games boss Søren Lund has told 1UP that both episodes of the Watchmen downloadable game are to be sold together on a retail disc.
Lund said the set will most likely ship alongside the Watchmen DVD/Blu-ray, which is expected on July 21 in North America.

Watchmen demo and full game hit PSN [Update]

Update: It’s on Live as well, now.
The European PSN just got a demo and the full game release of Watchmen: The End is Nigh.
The demo’s 1.26Gb in size, and the game itself costs £12.99 on the UK PS Store.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh to cost $20

According to this Joystiq report, Warner’s priced Watchmen: The End is Nigh at $20, or 1,600 MS Points if you’re buying it on XBLA.
It’ll be the same price on Steam.
That’s quite expensive. The game can be completed in less than two hours.

Watchmen gets official date

Warner’s put an official date on Watchmen: The End is Nigh.
The game will launch for 360 and PC on March 4, while PSN users will get it the next day.
The downloadable’s supposedly nice and short, so throwing a few pence at it to punch people for an hour or two may well fit into your schedule.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh gets shots

On Destructoid. There’s some environment art there as well. They’re the first proper screens. Fans of the comic, of which there are many, appear to be pretty much divided on whether or not the Warner Bros. adaptation is going to be “good” or not.
