In a press release announcing that Watch Dogs would be a launch title for the PlayStation 4, Ubisoft confirmed the title is also on the way to PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. A Nintendo console launch had been suggested by retail listings, but now you know for sure.

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs will be released this holiday season, according to a leaked GameStop posterhanded to Kotkau. The poster states the game will be coming to “all home consoles”, and while Ubisoft has already said it will release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, it looks as though it will be released on next-gen systems as well. As Kotaku notes, “all home consoles” could mean anything at this point. We’ll send a mail.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has said the firm is currently developing titles for current and next-gen systems simultaneously, and reiterated a 2013 release for Watch Dogs during a financial call to investors today.

Ubisoft has accidentally released user emails into the wild, via a QR code on the Watchdogs E3 trailer which took folks to the augmented reality site: www.dotconnexion.com. Once there, people could sign up for news through email or a chance at tickets for an art event. Well, an email was sent out and instead of BCC’ing everyone, they were CC’d instead. Those with addresses begin with “I” and onwards weren’t affected as it was finally caught. There was also something pertaining to a Mark Twain quote in there about a death being exaggerated. At any rate, Ubisoft has apologized for the blunder. More on OXM and RipTen.

The image through the break was provided by VG247 forum member, Moonwalker1982, and appears to show new Ubisoft IP Watch Dogs being interacted with via a tablet computer. The image shows a map on the tablet screen while Watch Dogs features on a standard TV screen and could perhaps offer a glimpse of the kind of thing we could expect from Microsoft’s SmartGlass app. Microsoft is making an announcement tonight at 6:30pm EST, which is widely expected to concern its own range of tablet PCs.

Fusible notes that Ubisoft has snapped up a number of domain names related to Watch Dogs and the word “movie”. It’s probably just a defensive move, what with the recent talk of other Ubisoft properties going Hollywood, although it’s worth remembering that Ubisoft has a bit of a passion for transmedia initiatives.

While other publishers ask you to ignore the gaping, next-generational holes in their line-ups, Ubisoft went to E3 with the express intent of capturing the core gamer’s love – and it got it.
