Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine fell foul of scheduling conflicts and THQ’s bankruptcy before two further parts in the intended trilogy could be developed, meaning players never got to find out what befell Captain Titus. Now there’s no need to use your imagination, as director Raphael van Lierop has discussed where he planned to take the story.

Videogames have proven themselves adept storytellers, effective learning tools, and profoundly able to support whatever the hell WarioWare is. Sometimes, though, you just want to slip out of your pretentious pants, throw on something comfy, and kill everything until even its ghost’s ghost is dead. Enter Space Marine. THQ’s launched a single-player demo of Warhammer 40k: Space Marine onto Xbox Live. The taster of the Relic TPS, which is currently Gold exclusive and will set you back 1.50Gb of HDD space, will let you play as Captain Titus of the Ultramarines, as you take on the Ork army and the forces of Chaos. There is also an early access PC demo available to those who are members of the Honour Guard.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will feature more than an hour-and-a-half’s worth of cut-scenes – 103 minutes and 17 seconds, to be specific – according to the BBFC. The game’s been given a 15 for its troubles, and passed with no cuts made. And that’s it.
