360 motion-sensing on the way, says Wall Street Journal

In case you needed any more of a hint that Microsoft’s about to announce a motion-sensing device for 360, the Wall Street Journal, citing “people familiar with the matter,” has said that “Microsoft Corp. is developing a new videocamera for the Xbox 360 console that will allow players to control games with the movement of their bodies”.

“Unlike the Wii,” says this report, “the Microsoft camera won’t require users to hold any hardware to control on-screen action, the people familiar with the matter said. The camera would sit near the television and capture when players move their hands, legs or head.”

Wii Music completes Miyamoto’s Wii vision, says Iwata

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo supremo Satoru Iwata has said that Wii Music is the final piece of Miyamoto’s Wii jigsaw. Or something.

“Wii Music completes what Miyamoto wrote in his proposal when he came up with the idea for the Wii,” said the pint-sized powerhouse. “He was saying that he needs to think up more ideas now.”

Iwata also said that the peripherals range for the machine is essentially done.

“Most of the ideas for accessories that we had initially come up with are out now,” he said. “We might think up some more, and we might make them if we do, but we don’t have any plans to release a whole lot more.”

Must-read, to be honest.
