VVVVVV will finally release in Europe on 3DS, according to the game’s publisher, Nicalis. Those in the US have been playing the Terry Cavanagh title since last year. Expect it to land on the eShop May 10. Thanks, NintendoLife.

Indie developer Terry Cavanagh has vowed to complete three major and five minor unfinished projects during 2012, including anticipated RPG Nexus City, a collaboration with Jonas Kyratzes. 2D platformer VVVVVV is probably Cavanagh’s best-known work; it’s available on PC and 3DS in the US, with a European releases on the handheld expected this month. Over its brief life span the Humble Indie Bundle has brought PC gamers some of the best deals in recorded PC gaming history. Now in its fourth incarnation, the HIB4 is digging deep for new levels of awesomeness, and somehow they managed it.

The indie developer behind VVVVVV has released At A Distance a co-op title originally designed for the NYU Game Center’s 2011 No Quarter Exhibition. Designed to be played with two computers side-by-side, two players will go through their own stage which features various colored minimalist environments in first-person view. The game does not have instructions, but what each player experiences is linked, so it is up to the co-opers to figure out how to solve the gam’e core puzzle together. Sound trippy, and interesting.
