The 3.00 update for the PlayStation Vita has launched, adding various features including a ‘Panoramic Camera’ mode, better Parental Controls and the application which links the Vita to a PlayStation 4. The update also revamps the friends app and allows you to transfer content between your PS3 and Vita over Wi-Fi.

Keiji Inafune has announced Soul Sacrifice Delta, a new version of the PS Vita monster battler with new spells and items will be released in March next year. In addition to those items, the new version will also introduce a third type of “Neutral” experience in addition to its predecessors Sacrifice and Save energy. Mr. Inafune implied that there would be PvP between the three factions, in addition to cooperative monster hunting.

As announced by Sony at TGS last September, Vanillaware’s popular Wii action title, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, is being ported over to the PlayStation Vita. Sega is taking no chances with Phatansy Star Online 2. The game will be free-to-play for all Japanese Vita owners from launch. If you don’t fancy spending out on the PC or console versions, a limited handheld outing might do just the trick.

Sony has released a new optional firmware update for PlayStation Vita. Update 1.69 will “improve software stability,” according to Sony’s Eric Lempel. The 97Mb download does little else apart from that and can be termed as minor. The system will be getting support for PSone Classics and YouTube via an update which’ll be released this summer.

Vague sales reports are coming in from the front lines of Vita’s Japanese launch, and while apparently things are going fairly well, they’re not going quite as well as Sony could have hoped. The Vita has not sold out according to Japanese retailers, but memory cards have. More »

Last month Sony had said users would be able to switch out memory cards in order to use multiple accounts on their Vita console. Apparently that’s not the case anymore, because they’re now saying there will be only one account per system, requiring a factory reset to switch. More »
